About wine -> Wine Bottle Shapes
The shape of the wine bottles comes with varies sizes around the world. Most of the wine produces comes with common European wine bottle sizes. Some time wine may comes with unique style also. This page has some commonly used bottle sizes.
Bordeaux
  Straight with steep, tall, shoulders normally made with dark green glass. Common shape for red wines.
Burgundy
  Shallow gentle sloping shoulders and also heavy bottles. This is for both red and white wines  occasionally in clear glass. Wines like Rhone wines, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir using this bottle shape.
Port
  Wines like Port, Madeira and Sherry uses the fortified wines bottles. This is sturdy bottle.
Champagne
  Very thick, gentle sloping shoulders and a long neck. Also contains a rather large punt, or indentation, in the bottom of the bottle. Champagne bottles normally with the high pressures  by the carbonation development after bottling. Some times pressures can exceed 90 psi.
Hoch
  Hoch, Alsace and Mosel bottles normally narrow, thin tall bottle with a very gentle sloping shoulder. It is typically light green in color some times you will find brown glass.
