Hyderabad Wine Club is formed with an idea
of promoting wine culture in Hyderabad. There is more and more
awareness about wines. Changing life styles, frequent travels abroad,
more and more women employment, increase in per capita income,
international research on health benefits of wines have combined
together to create wine awareness in India. Wine is more of a food
beverage, a fermented fruit juice than an alcoholic drink It is high
time that Hyderabadis should think about wine and shift their preference
towards wines. The idea is to shift peoples preference from hard
liquors to Wine.
The club, by organizing continuous wine
related events, would like to educate people about wine. It is not just
a platform to drink and dine, but a place to create opportunity to
understand and learn nuances of wine. Members will have opportunities
to meet Wine Makers, Wine Specialists to learn more about wines, taste
different wines for comparative assessment and share wine related
knowledge. Members will have preference in attending wine related events
with a discount. This is purely a non-commercial, non-profit making and
non-political organization.
Objectives:
Ø To introduce, inculcate and
promote Wine Culture in Hyderabad

To create awareness and an
appreciation for the benefits to health by wine.
Ø To arrange ‘Wine Maker
Dinners’ for members
Ø To organize Wine Tasting
Sessions, Wine Appreciating Lectures, Wine Tours and other wine related
events.
Ø To involve media actively to
develop wine culture
Ø To lobby with government
authorities for special status to wines for health in terms of taxing,
storage and vending.
Ø To encourage wine lovers to
understand nuances of wine, learn more about them through wine related
events.
Ø To encourage grape and fruit
farmers and wine makers to make Hyderabad a hub of wine Industry.
Membership:
Open by invitation to the wine
enthusiasts; individuals over 25 years old and corporate houses. The
membership will be for one year and will be confirmed by final approval
of the committee for continuance. The membership will be for Hyderabad
residents only, exclusive and will be restricted to selected
individuals only
