    Monopolistic markets in India

    Dear all,

First of all merry Christmas to all.

I am trying to learn some more about the monopolistic markets in India. I wqould like to have the contacts of somebody for TASMAC (Tamil Nadu), BEVCO (Kerala), DSIDC (Delhi) et APBC (Andra Pradesh). Do those distribution societies can import foreign wines? If yes, how do they purchase their wines? To who? How many outlets do they have? Are the foreign wines sold in the same shops than indian ones? Is it possible to purchase foreign wines somewhere else than in those shops?

Thank you in advance for any information on this subject.

    Sincerely yours

I don't understand your reply. What is the same in Europe? Knowledge isn't shared on the internet, so what is the purpose of this forum? Can I contact you on your private ID so that we can exchange some information?

    Hey Latoinemor

The state beverage marketing corporations themselves do not purchase the stuff - it first has to be imported into India, then labels registered with each Corporation (fees / documentation required vary), and then sentto them on consignment - they in turn wil pay the vendor against depletions. Some places have no policy on imported wines at all... it's complicated.

If you're in Europe and trying to find a market for your wines here, better you get hold of an importer first
