- Viv Menon works in the wine trade in the U.K. He was educated
in England but lived and grew up around the vineyards of Bordeaux,
particularly St. Emilion, from a young age. He has worked on vineyards, in
wineries and in chateaux in both Europe and the New World. After reading
Classics and Modern Languages at university he decided to enter the wine
trade. In 2001 he became the wine buyer for a fine food and wine company
specialising in Italian wines, for whom he also ran regular tastings. Viv is
currently completing an M.B.A. in Wine at the Royal Agricultural College,
Cirencester and is writing a wine guide with a member of the wine trade in
Chablis. He now looks after all of the U.K. operations for Thornbury Wines,
a top New Zealand winery. Viv also runs a wine investment fund, which allows
him to keep drinking some great wines at affordable prices!
