The new state budget has revised the tax
on imported wines
(and beers & spirits) wef 1.4.06 quite
drastically :
1. The 33% 'Special Fee' on landed cost
has been replaced by
a Rs/BL tax based on 'declared
price' - identical to that levied
on domestic and BII wines
2. From July 2006 all licensees can
stock & sell imported beverages
as the additional 10% fee licence
have been discontinued.
The impact on retail prices of BIO wines
will be between 15 - 20%.
Assuming a mark-up of 70%, for Bangalore
prices will change as follows:
